In 2021 I started a sermon series on Fellowship for something I believed God told me to do. Well, what I thought I was to do is no longer a thing (more on that here), I still kept the content though. And that’s what you’ve been seeing and will see the previous and next few weeks.

10 For the death that He died, He died to sin [ending its power and paying the sinner’s debt] once and for all; and the life that He lives, He lives to [glorify] God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. 11 Even so, consider yourselves to be dead to sin [and your relationship to it broken], but alive to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:10-11 (AMP)
Fellowship is more than breaking bread. It’s a covenant that you must put effort into just like any relationship. Through prayer, reading the Bible, fasting, repenting (changing our minds about sin because we all have at least one thing we need to change our minds about), seeking forgiveness, praising & worshiping through music, we grow deeper with God and other believers. That time we spend with Him only strengthens that covenant. Jesus was crucified so the power of sin would no longer have a hold over us. Thus ushering in a new relationship with God and other believers through his resurrection.
Other scriptures referenced in the sermon: I John 1:5-9, Romans 8:28, Galatians 2:20, Psalms 18:16-19, Mark 1:35.
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him. 6 If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. 7 If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I John 1:5-9
28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he pulled me out of deep water. 17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. 19 He brought me out to a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
Psalm 18:16-19
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place; and there he was praying.
Mark 1:35
What are you doing with those relationships?
I pray that this Word blessed your soul. If you want to begin your relationship with God, say this prayer.
