Where Have I Been?

Yea I know I’ve been M.I.A. for a good minute. I paused blogging in September and picked it back up in May of this year. A lot has changed in my life. I was in my last year of ministry school, went back to teaching in the classroom and some personal things that stretched me beyond my comfort zone.

To put it plainly, I was exhausted. I needed to figure out this season of my life with all the changes that were taking place.

The outpouring of pent-up things within came spilling out. The release of things I needed to let go of finally happened. The expression of being silent on certain topics showed itself.

I have been growing into the woman God has called me to be. So that meant walking away from who I wanted to be or wanted to be known as. That inner battle is probably why I was so exhausted. I had to have a come to Jesus moment that what I know God said to me at 19 was being revealed at 38.

The path during that time has taken me so far out of God’s vision for me that I never thought I would be able to return. Be able to be or feel part of God’s family again. Be able to be used by God to minister to other people.

But we know God uses broken, flawed people who are willing to say ‘YES’ to Him. And I said ‘YES’ in 2021 when I started ministry school. I said ‘YES’ when I walked away from social media. Social media is where I built a career that afforded me opportunities I would have never imagined. I said ‘YES’ when I was willing to uproot myself completely and move out of state.

These yeses are how God steadies and prepares us for the assignment we’ve been given.

So now that I have successfully completed ministry school (I’ll share more on my experience soon) I know God will reveal what and where I am to minister. In the meantime, I will continue to teach because I do actually enjoy challenging young minds to think critically especially when it comes to their life’s decisions.

But one thing I have mentioned on this blog and pray to continue doing is to blog. How that will look is up to God. Most of the content you’re seeing now and will see this summer is content I created for a ministry I believed God called me to start. But shifts happened and I’ll share more on that soon.

I don’t know if I’ll go back to blogging for brands primarily. But I do know that I will share my faith walk. I will share the Word of God. I will share to stimulate souls in a world that is full of darkness. We need to know light exist. For me, that light is the Word of God. And if you’re reading my blog, I pray the Word of God is the light you will be drawn to as well.

For now, I am back with content twice a week. Y’all know I love to share about Juneteenth so content on that is coming next month. Of course, I want to reflect on my birthday. I’m looking forward to the content you will see on this blog that I created 2 years ago to help people get into fellowship with God and other Believers. I put everything into letting God use me for that content.

Now that I am a Minister (still getting used to this new title) it’s time for me to be BOLDER in my walk with the Lord and stimulating other people’s souls to get BOLD with their own walk and fellowship.

For those who’ve rocked with me since Women of Gamechangers in 2011 until now, THANK YOU for your continued support. For those who’ve come along in the past 12 years, THANK YOU for being part of this journey. There have been more pivots than necessary but I am all for moving when it’s time to move, leaving when it’s time to leave (okay, okay I struggled in this area but I do it now) and knowing when it’s time to step up.

This blogging journey since Praying For Purpose, a blog I started in 2009, until today has been quite exhilarating. In 2003 when I believed God called me to ministry to 2009 when I started my first blog which centered on my faith until today where I am blogging about my faith walk, God has seen me through some tough times. Yet, He remained faithful to me and waited until I gave my ‘YES’ to fulfill the assignment given to me.

Do I think blogging will be part of my ministry?

Absolutely because God has given me the ability and talent to write in a way that stimulates and challenges people. So I will be obedient to this skill and use it for the expansion of God’s kingdom here on Earth.
