Mantles Conference 2023: TREAD Night and Day 2

Back to finish what was started……

The floor began shaking then it just started moving, literally. Night 2 started off with so much energy. If you didn’t believe in the presence of God showing up then you have never been in a room where the floor was literally jumping. I have never been in a room where the floor was literally moving. And I’ve been in churches and spaces where people were really praising. Again, the praise and worship that took place before the evening speaker set the stage for us to either admit that we didn’t know God or to open our hearts and let God deal with whatever we had hidden in there. The soloist really put her all into using her voice to stir the room to receive the presence of God. OMG! What can I say? I felt it in my bones.

Other things happened (which you can watch in the video below) such as an announcement. It’s refreshing to see a new generation of giants emerging to help continue leading the way back to Christ. Pastor Lisa introduced her husband, Apostle Duhart. Then y’all he went to work. I had only listened to him preach once before the conference so I would know who he was, and he did not disappoint on this night. The nerd in me was all into him breaking things down before he built it back up. Just take a listen.

Now we’re on Day 2. Y’all get ready. It was memorable.

Day 2 opened with the Pursuit Session. It was so good. I sat by different people so I was able to meet new people. We worshiped in song then we prayed for those around us. The room was just full. You can tell there was a shift in the atmosphere occuring.

Satan got mad at what was transpiring because people (if they truly opened up) got free, equipped, prepared and pushed to get out there and do the will of the Father that weekend.

All of a sudden we’re told to leave the room, there was a fire. I thought it was weird to have a fire drill during an event but found out later it was phantom smoke in the kitchen. Naw. It was a disturbance that was trying to ruin the occasion. Also not lost on me that the floor beneath the conference was hosting a “holistic” event where they were selling sage, crystals, etc. I mean capitalism is a krazy thing to rent out space to two opposing spiritual forces the exact same day.

We did get split up once outside. The people I was with, we chatted with the people who had to leave the movie theater. They asked questions because the members of The Rock were in t-shirts either for the conference or the church. So they were explaining what we were doing at CityCentre that weekend. Then we got notice to meet the rest of the conference attendees on the other side of the building. As we came closer, we heard them singing. Gotta love Black folks. No matter the situation, we’re gonna find a reason to sing. Because why? Praise will confuse your enemies.

We got back in after standing in that heat and Apostle Duhart was supposed to do another session this time on Sonship. But before he taught, the room had to be reset. We worshiped to correct the atmosphere. Also we needed to help realign why we were there and not focus on the disruption. The enemy tried to play us but ‘He who is in Me is greater than the one in the world’ prevailed.

Apostle Duhart wanted to stick to the time so he quickly went through his teaching on Sonship. I really wish he had been given the time to properly teach that though. Y’all, y’all the mic went out during his teaching. So what do good church folks do? Get closer and get quiet so we could hear. Then the mic came back on. When I tell you if that didn’t confirm to me that Houston has a leader who has been anointed to help lead and shape this region. If I’m being honest, Pastor John Gray leaving Lakewood (in my opinion) left a void in this city of a young Pastor who really is trying to do the will of God in the church and community. Time will reveal if this is what’s to happen with Apostle Duhart.

The next session was Apostle Patty Valenzuela preaching on ‘Healing to Expand’. I loved this, “shame enters the womb and it divides us from God, ourselves and others.” Not what it means but to give language to why some people don’t understand how shame is meant to keep us isolated so we could never heal especially being surrounded by people who want us to be healed, whole and healthy. She ended with a prayer that slayed us all.

We broke for lunch and had 2 more sessions to go before the end of the conference.

Returning from lunch I decided to attend Advanced Healing. I wanted to hear something different. Apostle Rob Wallace was the speaker. One thing really stuck with me. Apostle Wallace said when we pray for someone we’re not dependent on their faith. The faith of the person praying is what will be used. I also liked that he gave quite a few scriptures we could go over and study as it relates to prayer being used to heal. At the end, he asked if anyone had ailments or needed healing prayer. A few hands were raised. That gave the chance for some in the room to test their faith and pray over someone else. And yes, healing took place.

The last session was on prayer by Dr. MaryAlice Isleib. She said prayer needs time, a place and a pattern. She has lived an incredible life of service. She was 19 when she went into ministry forgoing a college basketball career. Helping to start churches in Europe after the wall came down in the early 90s to now teaching churches how to effectively pray which includes all members of the congregation as intercessors. Not just certain ones. That we all have the power to pray and that our prayers have power. She was potent.

It didn’t end there but how it ended, I’ll just say you needed to be there. We put into practice at that very moment what Dr. Isleib taught us about prayer. And that prayer was answered the next day because I attended The Rock Houston church service. Apostle Duhart made the announcement on what we all prayed about the day before that it had been answered with no lingering problems. Y’all prayer works.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mantles Conference. I’m really glad I by chance found out about it. Because no one I knew in Houston had heard about it or attended. I look forward to the testimonies of people who were mantled and to see how they are contributing to the expansion of God’s kingdom here on earth.
