This is what you can do with your family during December while on vacation in Abu Dhabi. First read how my first week on vacation in Abu Dhabi went.
Now I only have nephews but it was still fun to do things with them. This week we went to the Al Ain Museum and to the Christmas Tree Lighting and to meet to Santa at the Rotana Hotel.
So earlier this week I went to the Al Ain Museum.
Then I read this article about how taking pictures at a museum can impair your memory right after getting home from taking pictures at a museum.
I laughed so hard when I saw the title.
Is my memory really impaired from remembering what I saw because I took some pictures?
Only time will tell.
It doesn’t matter to me. I have the pictures to prove I saw the history of the U.A.E.
Quite interesting that the main economy was pearl fishing until that industry dried up. Also astronauts from NASA took this country’s flag on place on the moon on one mission. Oh and one man created the U.A.E. from a British colony and his family are the ruling leaders. They were the ones who also made sure this country got paid for the oil discovered here. (Wish other countries with large oil deposits weren’t taken advantage of and have the same opportunity for their citizens to be financially stable. )
So now I’m sharing my experience with you. Check out the pictures I took at the Al Ain National Museum.
Then we attended the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Rotana Hotel. My nephews also got to take a picture with Santa.
The hotel was absolutely breathtaking. I’ve stayed in nice hotels before but this one put them all to shame. The grandeur was something I hadn’t experienced before.
After the choir sang Christmas songs, Santa appeared and they lit up the Christmas tree we went outside to Santa’s hut. It’s the desert so it wasn’t the North Pole.
Let’s just say they have no concept of lines over here. There was a lot of pushing and cutting in line. It was annoying but we held our own. Finally we got to the front so my nephews could get their present and took a picture with Santa.
Hope you can tell I was having a little fun while taking pictures.
