Several weeks ago I was contacted by the editor at AfroElle Magazine to be featured in their business edition. Of course I said yes. I’m always thrilled when I can share about Fusion Tour.
This was an in-depth interview. We exchanged a few emails. I liked how thorough the editor was with follow-up questions.
What made this feature even more special is the fact it’s an overseas publication. It’s actually based in Kenya.
The focus of Fusion Tour is to connect bloggers to women entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, socialpreneurs and nonprofit leaders. Having a feature in a Kenyan magazine allows me to reach women outside of my network. And in business that is extremely important to have quality connections not only in your network but to have your network share their connections with you.
With me starting a new blog and expanding Fusion Tour, being able to get press is icing on the cake. Building Women Are Gamechangers I learned how to let my event and blog speak for themselves plus get noticed.

Excellent interview Vernetta. I love your advice of seeking out three people you’d like to meet when attending a networking event.
Thanks Roscoe. Yes just 3 people and already know beforehand who those 3 people will be. Makes networking easier because you have focus and a mission.
