12 Years A Blogger

Please don’t get confused by the many dates I have shared on this blog. March 2009 was when I started my very first blog, prayingforpurpose.blogspot.com. Then September 2011 I started Women Are Gamechangers. This was the blog that launched my professional blogging career. November 2013 I started this blog to have space to write about whatever I wanted to. Also not to take away from what I was doing on WAGC. Finally May 2020 was the relaunch of this blog into what you are reading now. The focus is on my faith. That meant deleting posts that I didn’t believe would align with where I’m headed. And sad because I don’t remember if I have drafts anywhere of those blog posts. Sigh….Let’s get back to now.

September will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s the month that I decided to do something completely bonkers to everyone else. I had resigned from teaching public school just a few months before. I was only working a part time job teaching English. So why would I start a blog in 2011 with no money, no blueprint or no idea what I was doing. Well 6 weeks later I got my first paid gig and it was on from there. I take time in September to reflect on how far I’ve come as a blogger, what I’ve accomplished, things I learned and did. I still have a hunger to write my thoughts on a public space. Not much has happened for me blog wise in the past year. However, I did begin to consistently post since May using content I created as I was studying through ministry school and other things.

I’m proud of this content. It’s content I wish I had during my season out of the church. Content that could have helped me tap into God and tap out of my own thoughts. So for now, I am thankful that I’m back to blogging even if it’s just to remember what my thoughts were a year from now.
