In 2021 I started a sermon series on Fellowship for something I believed God told me to do. Well, what I thought I was to do is no longer a thing (more on that here), I still kept the content though. And that’s what you’ve been seeing and will see the previous and next few weeks.

Galatians tells us to, “Live in the power of the Spirit not the defeat of the flesh.” It’s not a scripture but the overall message of the book. I want to simplify that. It means to be in fellowship, communion with God so you don’t feel obligated to take on everything by yourself. But you can lean into or accept help from a support system that walks with you through your situation.
2 Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.
Galatians 6: 2, 10 Main Text
Other Scriptures referenced: Exodus 18, Galatians 5:13-14, Ephesians 2:10
13 For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Galatians 5:13-14
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
Spiritual Gifts were mentioned frequently during this sermon. Read more about them and find out yours.
One thing to remember is it’s hard to load share or accept someone helping to carry your burden if you’re not in fellowship because you won’t understand that it’s an act of service. An act of God’s love. Obey the law of love. To begin fellowship with God so you can perform acts of love, say this prayer below.
