Financial Lessons From A Toast to Truths podcast: Money Moves August 2020

For wisdom is a protection even as money is a protection,
But the [excellent] advantage of knowledge is that wisdom shields and preserves the lives of its possessors.

This month as we celebrate National Black Business Month I wanted to highlight one episode from each of the 9 seasons of my podcast, ‘A Toast to Truths’ that deals with finances in some way. My hope is you learn something from each of these episodes so you can have more of a solid financial foundation in regards to your blog or business.

Because we need more Black businesses to succeed, grow and be here for generations to come.

Let’s dive into each episode.

Financial Lessons From A Toast to Truths podcast:

Season 1 Episode 2 We talk about the hard decision of giving up my condo due to financial constraints as I chose to stick with my blog while recovering from an economic downturn.

Season 2 Episode 10 We talk about setting your finances up in a structured way to help your business through the rough times.

Season 3 Episode 1 We talk about how more Black women are starting businesses but can’t get the funding because white men control the banking and financial industry.

Season 4 Episode 3 We talk about dissolving a business especially after you tried everything to make it work but it just didn’t work out.

Season 5 Episode 5 We talk about how I used something that brought me peace as a way to create a new stream of income for myself that others could benefit from.

Season 6 Episode 1 We talk how to keep your business going after a natural disaster. This may be a great one to listen to as we’re currently dealing with a pandemic and still have bills that need to be paid.

Season 7 Episode 2 We talk the importance of checking out people you refer and the person you’re referring others to. Your business reputation depends on it.

Season 8 Episode 6 We talk about launching a business after 50 with my mom who has made some tremendous strides and pivots during this pandemic to keep her business going.

Season 9 Episode 8 We talk about how even if you’re good at and known for something doesn’t mean you won’t struggle with it. I share that as I knew my season as an event blogger was coming to an end.

I hope each of these episodes has given you something that you can use in your business or for your blog. I have learned so much during my almost 9 year journey as a professional blogger. That has gotten paid every single year since 2011 as a blogger. This is why I created the podcast, to share my ups, downs and turnarounds to prevent you from the struggle.

Take notes. Share. Implement.
