I’m sure y’all heard the abrupt, chaotic ending to the tour in Chicago. It was startling but things happen. Despite the ending, I enjoyed the concert. I saw an up and coming singer, a singer I only heard about, and 3 I grew up with. And I had a great seat. So overall, The Boy Is Mine was worth attending to me.

There was a DJ that kept the crowd hyped until the concert started. I don’t remember his name but he was funny, lively and personable. And he knew what hits to play to get us out of our seats. The concert opened with Jamal Roberts, the recent winner of American Idol. I only heard he won, I haven’t watched American Idol in well over a decade. Man does he have a beautiful voice. I may have to check out more of his music. Then Muni Long sang. I knew none of her songs and I was kinda irritated with her little “act”. She put on a little play or whatever. She does have a beautiful voice though. But I’m not her audience.

Baby we finally got to Kelly, no last name needed IYKYK, and she showed why she’s a superstar. Opening with my FAV song of hers, ‘Motivation’ got the whole crowd hyped. She performed and left it all on the stage. Kelly’s performance is a great display of why some people have longevity and others don’t in the music business. Last we get to the main event. The reason we all came. Or at least why I trekked out to the United Center.

Brandy and Monica came out together, performed together and solo, sang their hits, intertwined their songs. It was amazing. You can tell a lot of thought, planning and consideration went into each set. Absolutely. Loved. It. Then it ended so abruptly. I’m just glad Brandy is alright. People know Moesha was my girl growing up, lol. I was disappointed I didn’t see them sing ‘The Boy Is Mine’ live but I saw Brandy perform live again and that is all that matters.
