This one question usually stands out for me:
What has God called you to do?
Or what is your calling?
I’ve heard of calling my whole life (wrote this blog post to explain it a little better) and still wasn’t sure what it meant. Or if I found mine. So I did some research. And decided to do a breakdown of calling.
We are all called to obey God. But we have a secondary calling as well. We usually put the secondary calling above the call to obey God. Not realizing that’s our first calling. We are called to Christ to be followers of the Way. To lead people back to Christ. That’s our primary calling. Our secondary callings are a personal answer to God’s address or our response to God’s summons. Which is to lead people back to Christ. The first calling must lead to the secondary calling. Not the other way around. We are called to God. What we DO FOR God is our calling. We actually have 2 callings in life that must work together simultaneously.
So we obey God’s Word and bring people to Him through what we do using our spiritual gifts. This can be paid or unpaid. Not every job is a calling and not every calling means you get paid. But your calling uses the spiritual gifts God put in you.
