2025 WNBA All-Star Fever Pitch

I attended my first All-Star weekend on a planned whim. Is that a thing? It is for me. I found out I could put my name on a waitlist. Or did I forget I already did? Any who, I received a phone call and the salesperson walked me through options and I put a deposit down. Then when I got the call a couple months later that tickets were opening up, I bought a package so I could have tickets to a few events.

And I went to everything I could. The skills challenge was my FAV part of the weekend. The athletes were really into it. I was rooting for Alisah Gray because she is a former Dallas Wings. But Cloud won and she earned that victory. I definitely always like to try the concessions when I go to a new arena. The BBQ pulled pork nachos were delish. Just a little too much sauce but I liked them.

The All-Star game wasn’t competitive, and I’ve seen people upset about it. I actually liked that they were just having fun. The weekend shouldn’t be all work like other games but a time for them to see each other, have fun and relax.

Their shirt, ‘Pay Us What You Owe Us’ sparked debate.

For what reason? I don’t get it. I mean don’t you want to get paid fairly at your job?

So their lack of competitiveness at the game didn’t bother me at all. I stand with the players to get fair compensation for the enjoyment they bring to millions of people.

Everyone asked who did I go with? 🎵Nobody baby 🎵 Solo trips are what I do. They give me a chance to relax, sleep late and do what I want when I want. This was a perfect weekend getaway for me to go to events and be able to experience something new. People are generally nice so I always find an extrovert who will adopt this introvert at events. Soo many people offered to take my photos. Sometimes I let them when it made sense to get what I was standing in front of. Other times I just wanted a selfie.

As someone who remembers when the WNBA started, I’m thrilled to see the growth and awareness. As a middle schooler, it was exciting to see women get to be a Pro in a game I love.

Would I attend again? Absolutely. I signed up again for the waitlist and look forward to whatever city it’s in. Did I forget to mention that you can sign up for the waitlist and when it opens you place a deposit to be able to purchase your tickets before the general public? I’m glad I did because I heard tickets sold out the day they were made public.

This was a birthday gift to me. And I deserve to gift myself gifts that are memorable for me. The Fever Pitch was what I needed to get through the rest of the summer at my job before a new group of students begin.
