Q:  Before we dive into today’s episode let me ask you this, who are you trying to be superwoman for?

Part I:  So many articles are being written about stress and black women. This makes me happy. I was a “superwoman” for way too many years. I thought that was what I was supposed to do. But we as black women age our bodies 7.5 years ahead of our white counterparts being this “superwoman”. After reading this book, “Shifting:  The Double Lives of Black Women and Depression” I realized there aren’t enough people educating us, women, on the harmful effects stress. Our society thrives on it yet it’s a precursor to many serious health issues that are preventable. This is why I’m on a mission to help others leave the strong black woman myth behind, put self-preservation first and protect their peace. I
