Memories vs. Money

I’ve noticed a huge uptake in the amount of people preaching about find your purpose, live your passion, run your business while traveling the world. Which there is nothing wrong with it. Who wouldn’t want to travel the world making memories? Or working within their purpose to make money?

But there is just 1 problem.

You’re sold a dream. A fantasy. But the strategy and plan that goes behind making that a reality is often stated in fine print. Meaning it’s not said unless you purchase something with that person or work with that person one on one or in a group program. The hard work, grunt work and hours of implementation are not shared transparently by most people.

For the last 4 years I’ve run Women Are Gamechangers. I did travel the country which is exactly what I said I wanted to do. I did make money from my own products, services and Fusion Tour. I have so many fun, interesting, memorable memories too.

But I’ve reached a point in my life where I feel memories are of greater importance to me than money. Not to say I don’t like money. It’s important to pay off Sallie Mae and ’em.

But on the other hand, I am looking at the fact that I’m 31 years old and I have lived my entire adult life so focused on making money that the memories I should have in life aren’t there.

So I’m on a mission to begin to make these memories. I started in July for my birthday month. Last month I attended the Ed Sheeran concert when he came to Houston. And I have a few more things in the works. It may not seem like a big deal to you but to me it truly is. My life can’t just be about work and making money. And neither should yours.

I’m sharing this with all of you because I have been so focused on building a career then when that took a sharp left, I poured all my energy into building the Women Are Gamechangers brand. But none of that is what I knew I was meant to do. It was passions I was fulfilling in hopes that it would make me content.

Today there is a little over 90 days left in 2015 and I plan to make money from the memories I will experience.

How will I do this?

I am evaluating all that I am currently doing. If it doesn’t fit into my plans for the future then it’s going to be left in 2015. Many of the changes may surprise you when they are complete but that experience on this 4 year journey will become a memory I can share with others.

Over the last 4 years I’ve had many success and failures, but I felt I was living for other people’s expectations of my life. Today I choose the life I am meant to live. I choose memories over money.

Don’t get it twisted. I will still be making money but it will be from things I choose myself and not what I think others want from me or expect from me.

And the first way I plan to do that is provide a way to help you all understand how to position yourself to be noticed without a publicist and understand which platforms will be the most effective for you to make your business visible and an authority within your niche. If you’re interested in learning more about that stay tuned as some details will be shared in the next newsletter.

I have always known my purpose is to serve women but over the last 13 years I’ve had many learning experiences to help hone the necessary skills to make me extremely good at where God is taking me now.

My goal is to help YOU get positioned as an authority and on the right platforms just in time for the Holiday sale season.
