CNBC.com “Accidental” Entrepreneur Lead Story

On Thursday, November 20, 2014 one of the biggest things to happen to me in business occurred. I was a lead story on an article on cnbc.com. Overwhelmed, thrilled, excited, emotional is how I’m feeling right now. For 3 years, my sister and I have worked sacrificing so much to build Women Are Gamechangers into what it is today. We still have lots to do but our cousin came on board to help. So stay tuned to see what we have coming up.

Back to the story on cnbc.com.

I always tell women to just say, “I’m here.” That has opened so many doors for me. I would have never been a part of this story if I didn’t send my story to the writer.

There are many times I have sent information to a writer or website to be part of an article and didn’t get it. Yes, I was bummed but I never stopped pitching myself. And you shouldn’t either.

I can honestly say I AM an accidental entrepreneur and proud of it. If it wasn’t for God slamming the door in my face in 2011 when I left education, I would not have started Women Are Gamechangers or Fusion Tour.

The best part of sharing my story on cnbc.com is the fact that others can see that they don’t have to have planned to become an entrepreneur to be one. It can happen when you least expect it. Like being forced to resign or a recession. Besides, the world is waiting for you.

I want to challenge all women to consistently pitch yourself. We need more people to know the work from home community is alive, well and doing ah-mazing things. Our businesses deserve to be treated as any other business.

Just because we work at home doesn’t mean what we do isn’t making a difference and isn’t making us income to take care of our families. Not all work from home businesses are MLM or direct marketing either. Some of us create a business from the ground up.

This is really just the being. This accidental entrepreneur has just gotten started.
